Getting started
Choose an image tool from the homepage, then add one or more files by clicking the upload area or dragging them into the page. Set the controls in the Processing Options section and click Process images. You can download each result separately or save multiple output files as a ZIP archive.
Which image formats can I use?
JPG, PNG and WebP work in most modern browsers. Animated GIF input is processed as a single still frame, not an animated file. SVG input is sanitized and rasterized into a still image; unsupported or remote SVG features may be removed. AVIF decoding and encoding depend on browser support. HEIC and raw camera formats are not included in the initial browser engine.
Why did an image become larger?
Re-encoding an already optimized image does not guarantee a size reduction. PNG, in particular, may grow when processed with the built-in browser PNG encoder. For many photographs, JPEG or WebP with a moderate quality setting is more appropriate. Inspect both the visual quality and the actual output bytes before publishing.
How do I preserve transparency?
Use PNG or WebP when you need transparent pixels. JPEG does not support them; transparent areas are filled white in the JPEG export. Circle Crop Image and Round Image Corners default to PNG so the corners can remain transparent.
What about huge batches?
Standard tools are processed locally and do not require transfer to a remote image server, but decoding large files may use much more RAM than their compressed size indicates. Work in smaller batches, especially on mobile. The WordPress administrator controls the per-file and batch limits. Large output ZIP files can also exceed safe browser memory.
Do I need an account?
No account is needed for the standard tools. Uploads in the standard tools are selected from your device and are not stored in a CompIMG user library. A browser refresh clears the temporary workspace and results.
Why can’t I encode AVIF?
Image encoders are provided by the browser environment, not by file naming. A browser can decode a particular format without necessarily being able to encode it. CompIMG checks the resulting MIME type and returns a clear message rather than downloading a PNG file disguised as AVIF.
How do the AI features work?
AI features are optional. The site administrator must configure a secure remote processor, rate limits and verification. AI images are uploaded for remote processing and are different from the local tools. If the service is not configured, the AI pages are not published.
What should I do when processing fails?
Try a smaller source, a supported JPEG or PNG file, and a current version of Chrome, Firefox, Edge or Safari. Reduce the output dimensions or batch size if your device has limited memory. If a file fails repeatedly, contact the website operator with the tool URL, format and relevant error text.
